On kayak, you can explore the various caves and rocks to swim off around the island that are usually inaccessible by foot. You will be able to get a feel for Jersey’s unique and isolated coastal environment that you can’t experience any other way. Explore the caves underneath La Corbière lighthouse or jump off St Catherine’s breakwater on a sunset sea kayak tour. Located in la Grange Route de la Cote on the south-east coast of the island, Jersey Kayak Adventures is a great base to start your tour of the beautiful sea. With the option to travel on a modern sit-on-top kayak or a traditional sit-inside boat, you can paddle single or tandem and explore Jersey’s fantastic coastline. The clue is in the name and with Wild Adventures, you can certainly get wet and wild on one of their kayak tours. British Canoe Union instructors will ensure you are clued up on all the basic skills you need to feel comfortable in exploring the island’s ocean environment. You can pick your tour from a leisurely paddle to a more adventurous session with a mix of coasteering if you want to explore the island’s coast in more depth. The centre is in St Brelade, but the tours vary in location depending on the tidal pattern and preferences. The equipment is provided for you so all you need to bring is your sense of adventure and maybe a spare change of clothes!
Jono’s Watersports doesn’t only do kayak tours, it does wind-surfing, surfing, stand-up paddle-boarding, sailing and coasteering, as well as qualified water sports instruction and equipment hire. Situated in the family-friendly St Brelade’s Bay, you have the option to take lessons in your chosen water sport, or simply hire out the equipment if you feel confident enough.
