The apartment is spread over two levels, offering views of the parade ground and the Governor’s House at Elizabeth Castle, where Sir Walter Raleigh and King Charles II once stayed. The lower level features a recently refurbished kitchen and shower room. The apartment can accommodate up to six people, with a double sofa bed in the living area and a spacious bedroom upstairs containing one double bed and two single beds.
When the Castle is closed, you have the entire area to yourself. You can climb the battlements, explore the turrets and bunkers, and swim from the Castle’s private beach.
Separated from the mainland by the tide at least twice a day, ferry transport is available only between spring and autumn, when the Castle is open to visitors. While it is possible to walk to and from the Castle at low tide, no cars are allowed to drive across the beach.
To book, we recommend contacting our team first to get advice on the tides during your stay and the best times to access the apartment. If you are visiting from outside the Island, we suggest planning your travel around the tide schedule to ensure a smooth journey back to shore. Guests will meet a member of staff on-site to access the property and collect the keys.
